In God we Trust?

“The Great Physician knows what is required for our complete healing and freedom from those things that torment us. Although He has every ability to heal us instantly, He often asks us to go through a process to get to that place of healing.

God wants an intimate relationship with us. He knows that it is our weaknesses that force us to turn to him and it is in that turning that we learn to trust Him and let His divine strength replace our human frailties. He often allows some of our struggles to remain for a season to help direct us to Him and His sovereign power. It is through the recovery process that we really begin to know our Creator and our God in an intimate way and learn how to allow His abundant grace to be sufficient to meet our needs and fill our empty spots.

Whether you are the one looking for recovery from addiction, or the spouse grappling with questions about her own self-worth and feelings of rejection, your struggle has nothing to do with whether you love God enough or have enough faith. It only says that you still have a ways to go in honing your ability and willingness to risk trusting God with your fears. You’re not alone—we all do! As imperfect humans, none of us have yet learned to fully trust God in ALL things. Every one of us is still a work in progress!
