Are you tired of trying to live a double life? Are you sick of the secrets and always looking over your shoulder, afraid you’re going to get caught? Are you tired of feeling like you’re failing God, your family and yourself?

ID-10091680Are You Ready to Get Off This
Destructive Roller-coaster?

You can do it! There are just three things you need to find TRUE freedom:

COMMITMENT
That means you have to stop making promises. Did you hear that? NO MORE PROMISES! Promises are disposable. Once they’ve been broken, they’re absolutely useless.

People that succeed at anything, have learned to replace their hollow, worn out promises with a commitment to reaching their goal. It’s a totally different mindset. Unlike a promise, a commitment doesn’t end until success is achieved. If they stumble they fight to get right back on track. No excuses. No blaming. No time for pity parties or beating themselves up. No matter how many times they fail, they just keep getting up, brushing themselves off and moving forward.

Success seldom comes from a solitary burst of trying harder, it comes from continuing to persevere toward the goal, no matter what the immediate, temporary outcome may be. As one person put it, “Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you.”

COURAGE
The second thing you need is courage. To be honest, this is one adventure that is definitely not for sissies! In fact, recovery is likely to the be the hardest thing you’ve ever done . . . but the rewards are far greater than you could ever imagine. God promised us all a “life more abundant,” but we have no idea how incredible that really can be until we begin to have our first little tastes of it.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” — Ambrose Redmoon  You may not believe that you have any fears . . . but there is something that has kept you from succeeding in previous attempts. There’s a reason that you haven’t reached your goal, or for some, even started the journey. Somewhere, deep down, there is a subconscious fear that has been holding you back.

The only way to actually beat this thing is with a rock-solid commitment coupled with the ability to muster, with the help of God and others, the mental or moral fortitude, grit and tenacity necessary to take risks, employ new strategies and eliminate the thoughts, beliefs and fears that have driven your unwanted behaviors.

A TRUSTED SHERPA
No, we’re not talking about a Himalayan mountain climber – but we are talking about finding someone very much like him. It’s widely believed that few climbers would make it to the top of Mount Everest without the Sherpas. These men (and a few women) are not only locals, but they are highly skilled and experienced. They know what’s needed to reach the summit—they understand the weather patterns and they know the necessary equipment and best route for the presenting conditions. When it comes to the actual climbing, they have a phenomenal energy and power on the mountain. Why? Because they’ve been there before. They’ve helped scores of people safely reach their goal. They are the backbone of any expedition.

You’ll need a guide—a mentor— for this healing journey as well. The most skillful guides have already successfully made this trek themselves. They are keenly aware of where the most dangerous spots are, they can make sure you’re properly prepared and they know how to assist you when you get in a precarious spot. They know the dangerous conditions, the tricks, the techniques and they can talk you through the tight spaces to help keep your feet firmly planted.

A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future, and believe it can be obtained.—Shawn Hitchcock. Their own journey has given them a hardiness, expertise and experience that YOU can draw from.
