A hearty welcome to all my readers! I am SO glad you’ve stopped by Choosing Life, Finding Freedom today!
It’s been a little over a year since I first started this blog, and I guess I’m waxing a little nostalgic. Some of you have been with me since the beginning, many others only weeks or days. Although I’ve not had the opportunity to connect with all of you individually, I want each of you to know just how much I appreciate your follows, likes and comments.
I’ve been blessed by my visits to your sites, as well. I’ve felt your pain, rejoiced with your victories, and pondered the depths of your questions and insights. You’re all amazing! Thank you for sharing your life and your journey with all of us.
Hopefully some of the experiences my husband and I have been through and the lessons we have learned through his own recovery and our years facilitating sexual addiction recovery groups will minister to your hearts, as well. There is so much value in all of us sharing truth, encouragement and challenges together.
Even in our bleakest moments there is an odd comfort in discovering that the struggles we’re having are common. Others have experienced the same thing. It’s not that we’re just some weirdo freak, more broken or more sinful than the rest.
Addiction recovery or any major life change involves lots of hard work, frustration and stamina. We need each other. Together we are all stronger than any of us are alone. It reminds me of this passage in Ecclesiastes:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
