In 2 Corinthians 1 God encourages us to “comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” We believe God has called us to share with others what He has so freely given to us.
Yes, we’ve been there. We know the pain of sexual addiction—for both the struggler and the spouse. It’s been many, many years now since Bruce found a bag of pornography that someone had carelessly tossed in the bushes. As a curious ten-year-old he had no idea that something that seemed to be such a lucky find would cost him so much. He couldn’t forsee that he was starting down a path that would ultimately bring him to a place of self-hatred and despair.
For over twenty five years he watched helplessly as sexual addiction devoured more and more of his life. He tried to stop . . . hundreds of times . . . but his willpower was never enough to sustain him for long. He always ended up doing the very things that he promised himself he would never do. There seemed to be no way out of the double life he was leading. Suicide began to look like the only solution for stopping the awful craziness.
Thankfully, it didn’t end there. Bruce made the decision to try just one more thing before following through with his plan. With nothing more to lose, he gave up trying to do it on his own and reached out for help. God honored his surrender and put him on a new path—the path to healing and freedom. It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but God has ALWAYS been faithful.
We look forward to sharing more of our story and the truths that God has revealed to us in the weeks and months to come. We know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that what He did for us, He WANTS to do for you.
